We all hope to live a happy life and be carefree every day, but there are always unexpected things occurring in our lives, for example, our career is not smooth, our family is not in harmony, illness comes to us, or other things happen that are not pleasant. And we will lose faith in God, lose hope in life, and fall into Satan’s temptation because of them. Then how can we keep our faith in God when in difficulty?
Matthew 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
Matthew 17:20 “And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief: for truly I say to you, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you.”
Matthew 19:26 “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.|
These verses tell us that, no matter what happens, we need to have faith in God and only if we have faith in God can we see God’s deeds. For example, because of his true faith Noah built the ark according to God’s instruction, so that his whole family was saved.
Take Job for another example. Because of true faith, when he lost his property and children, he did not deny God but still praised God’s holy name, and in the end he received doubled blessings from God and God appeared and spoke to him in the wind. From these examples we see that, when the things that do not conform to our notions happen, we need to have true faith in God. If we can be like Job and Abraham, and when suffering and tribulation come to us, we can keep from complaining against God and still pray and seek to satisfy God’s will, then we are someone whom God loves and blesses.
