In a six-hours taking open-heart surgery Healing Valves Ethiopia today(27/08/22) performed the 11th free voluntary surgery. Mitral valve repair and PDA closure was done for a 14 years old girl from a place called Worabe after she presented with severe mitral regurgitation due to RHD and a congenital heart disease called PDA. Thanks to the fund raised during first year anniversary of HVE by the auction from the picture donated by Audio Visual Artist Samuel Hailu and the subsequent winner by Ato Tesfaye Ballema, we managed to perform this demanding and life-saving surgery.
