The peace of Christ is more precious than all the riches, all the delights and joys of the earth. It consists in the undoubted knowledge of the Living God, our Father.

It is enough for us to have a little food, to be under the roof of the house, to have a body covered from cold and shame (1 Timothy 6:8). If only the mind – our spirit – would be free to plunge into contemplation of the Divine Being revealed to us by Christ.

Longing for the world above, a loving aspiration to it – is our joy, makes even a painful old age regally magnificent, full of expectation of the merciful "embrace of the Father" (Luke 15:20).
