• Based on data trends and requests from other divisions/units/offices and under the supervision of the international counsellor, develop and provide a range of training and programs including but not limited to team building, resilience, harassment, and cross-cultural sensitivity to improve morale, health, and team dynamics that promote staff wellbeing
• Identify and liaise with high-quality local mental health resources that can be used for referrals or in times of crisis. Ensure proper follow-up when a staff member is referred.
• Prepare a monthly report on the activities conducted including statistical data.
• Maintain the highest ethical standards related to the provision of psychological services;
• Other as required.
TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
The candidate should hold active licensure/registration as a mental health professional with a recognized governing association and be a member of that organization in good standing. Additional training or certification in a broad range of related fields, such as alcohol/substance abuse, resilience, cross-cultural communication, conflict resolution, mediation, trauma etc. will be an advantage

• Broad knowledge of all facets of the field of counselling and ability to provide an environment in which others can talk confidentially and act without fear of repercussions within a climate of established trust.
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentations) including the ability to defend and explain difficult issues and positions to the staff at all levels.
• Ability to identify clients' needs and suggest appropriate solutions.
• Ability to establish and maintain productive partnerships with clients.
• Ability to contribute to the strategic vision of the Wellness division based on trends identified using a population health model.
• An excellent team player and value working with a multidisciplinary and cross-culturally diverse team.
• Very good working knowledge of technology tools such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Advanced university degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, Sociology, with at least 2 years professional work experience in a related field OR a university degree with at least 6 years of relevant work experience in the related field.
Experience in hardship duty stations providing counselling services to staff working in difficult and hazardous environments is required.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Specialist expertise in the assessment of mental health needs and the assessment of risk.
• Broad knowledge of all facets of counselling services and demonstrated skills to create a trusted environment in which others can talk confidentially.
• Ability to manage crisis situations which involve diverse actors and stakeholders.
• Ability to identify clients’ needs and suggest appropriate solutions.
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation).
• Conflict resolution and mediation skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people of both genders and diverse national and cultural backgrounds.
• Skills in designing and delivering trainings/information sessions on a number of subjects and ability to adapt those to different audiences.
Language: Fluency in oral and written communication in English and Amharic is required. Fluency in other local language is an added advantage.
