We have activated the national multisectoral Emergency Operations Centre for #LassaFever in response to a risk assessment placing the country at a "High Risk" of increased spread and impact.
The assessment considered factors including:
Increased number of states reporting cases
High death rate of confirmed cases
Low index of suspicion among healthcare workers.
HCW infections and deaths
Deterioration of essential healthcare.
